Two days. That's all we had in Singapore on a stopover, and we nearly wrote it off as "just the airport."
Then the airport turned out to be the first attraction. The Rain Vortex at Jewel, a waterfall pouring down through the middle of a terminal, had our two glued to the glass before we'd even found a taxi. Singapore does that a lot. It sneaks the wow in where you least expect it.
Day one was Gardens by the Bay, which is worth timing for dusk when the Supertrees light up. Day two, a slow Marina Bay morning and a wander through a couple of the hawker centres, where, handily, there's something plain enough for a fussy eater at nearly every stall.
What made it painless was the scale. The MRT is cheap, cool, and quick, so nobody got the after-lunch grumps stuck in traffic. We didn't get near Sentosa, Universal Studios, or the Singapore Zoo and River Wonders, all now firmly on the next-time list.
