Getting a kid's first snowboard right is trickier than it looks. Too long and it's unmanageable, too short and it's twitchy, and it's tempting to size up so they "grow into it," which usually backfires on the learning curve. Height, weight and how confident they are all feed into it, which is why a proper size guide beats guessing in a hire shop queue.
